UPW

Presbyterian Women

The Community Presbyterian PW meets from September thru June on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the church basement. We have a group of 15 to 20 women who attend regularly. We have a business meeting and a bible study using various sources.
We also have a sewing group that meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month and we do a stamp project where we send cancelled stamps to Florida and they are sold to buy Sunday School books for poverty countries. The sewing ladies sew and tie quilts that are used for baptisms, HS seniors, and we do a prom quilt each year given at the Post Prom drawing. This day is also used to do prepared meals for people in the community who have been ill, maybe live alone or need a little home cooked food. We do 5 or 6 totes of food with approximately 3 or more meals during the winter months.
We also still serve funerals for members of the congregation. We will prepare a roast beef dinner or sandwiches whatever the family prefers. We also do local missions when the need arises and the last two years have done a monetary donation to Tools for Opportunity Missions.
